If these cats were albinos they would have pink eyes. First cub of this color was discovered in 1951, and some zoo specialists took a fancy to breeding these unique creatures. However, considering the low likelihood of such an occurrence, they had to do a lot of inbreeding, which resulted in serious genetic diseases.

Only the two parents that are both of the same pale color may produce this type of a cat. In wildlife it is very rare that a cub of this color appears and today cats of this color may be seen only in zoos. It would take about 10,000 births for such a cub to occur in the wild. This coat color is defined by a double recessive allele that can be contained in the gene pool of orange species.
